After the success of our Newquay Campaign Day, we are giving St Austell the chance to host theirs on Saturday 14th March This is a very exciting period for us as a local party, with a historic chance for us to prove the bookies and pundits wrong by holding this seat. The Campaign Day is a fantastic opportunity for you to get involved, meet like-minded people and make a difference to our local community in the run up to the General Election.
Whatever your skills and expertise, we can find a way for you to get involved. Here are some of the choices of activities that you could help with;
Door to door canvassing – in groups we will be going out and talking to voters to find out about the issues and concerns they have ahead of the General Election. Most people are pleased to be asked their opinions and we have found people to be a lot friendlier now they know the election is coming.
Delivering leaflets – join our delivery team for the day dropping off our most recent leaflet. This is great exercise and you might discover parts of your local area that you’ve never had the chance to go to before.
Clerical work – We have envelopes to address, letters to stuff and posters to stick double-sided tape on to. Tea, coffee, biscuits and warm conversation will be provided.
Phone canvassing – If you’d prefer to stay inside there is still the opportunity to speak to voters – over the phone rather than on the doorstep.
There will be Cornish Pasty lunch available for all our volunteers. Please register to say that you are coming so that we know how many pasties to order.
In the early evening we’ll be heading off to the local pub to celebrate a great days campaigning. It would be great if you could join us then so we can get to know you better.
