Gilbert comments on the news that Western Greyhound will cease to trade

 key_gilbertparliament.jpg

Commenting on the news that Western Greyhound will cease to trade, St Austell & Newquay MP Stephen Gilbert said:

“As well as being a real blow for the hundred people who are losing their jobs, this news will leave thousands of people who depend on the bus to get to work, to get to the Doctors, or to get to the shops, very worried about how they will manage.  The most pressing issue is to find an alternative for these vital community bus routes and to ensure the staff have the support they need at this most difficult time.  I will be working with Cornwall Council and the local bus companies to do everything I can to reduce the impact on our communities and to restore a reliable service as soon as possible.”
