Local Councillor Malcolm Brown wants you to support Stephen Gilbert as our MP

Local Councillor Malcolm Brown tells us why he is supporting Stephen Gilbert to go back to Westminster as your MP. So that Stephen can continue to help local residents with their problems week in week out by getting things done and continuing to change peoples circumstances for the better.

Dear friend,

In the next few days you should receive one postal vote form for the General Election and another for a St Austell Town Council by-election. I am writing as your Cornwall Councillor to encourage you to use your vote in both elections and to support Stephen Gilbert and John Colwill.

Stephen has been your MP for the last 5 years. He has worked very hard on the issues that matter here like resisting unwanted housing developments, securing more investment in our schools and protecting the National Health Service.

Week in week out Stephen has helped people in this area with their problems. He gets things done and has changed many people’s circumstances for the better.

It is clear that this election is going to be very close and that it will be the Conservative or Lib Dem who will win. You can either back Stephen Gilbert or have a Conservative MP. It’s as simple as that.

Everyone is predicting we are going to have another hung parliament. So how do we make it work for us? We need Lib Dem MPs like Stephen Gilbert who will put Cornwall first, keep the economic recovery on track and hold the Government to the sensible centre ground.

John Colvill is a Cornishman who has been Chair of the ABC Residents Association in Boldventure and Chapel Field for many years. He is highly experienced in representing the residents of that area and pursuing issues with both the council and Ocean Housing. He is the only candidate for the Town Council who lives in the Bethel area and he will be a strong voice for our area.

I will be voting for both Stephen and John. Please join me.

Malcolm Brown

PS. Please let others in your house read this letter. Please remember to use both your postal votes for Stephen Gilbert and John Colvill and to return them as soon as possible.
